TCAA Towel Drive

Please help us with the 2017 TCAA Towel Drive to help some of the needy in our community with one of their basic necessities.

In talking with some of my friends at the Tempe Community Action Agency, I learned that there is a great need at I-Help to come up with approximately 250 towels to be used with the Shower Power mobile shower system.

I Help Homeless shelter in Tempe

The Shower Power mobile shower unit travels to many sites in our community and allows the homeless to shower on site. Towels are kept and laundered by the TCAA, but there is an almost constant need for more towels. We are asking people to donate towels to meet the current need. We don’t need you to go purchase new towels to donate, we are simply looking to see if you have any extra towels that can be used after showering.

Join the TCAA Towel Drive!

We have an immediate need for approximately 250 towels. Towels can be dropped off Monday – Friday from 9am-5pm at my office at 1400 East Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ. We are located on the first floor of the building, suite 100. You can also call us at 602-803-6425 if you need other drop off times or if you have any questions.

To many of us, it is hard to fathom going without a shower. For some in our community, it is something they deal with on a regular basis. The towels are used by I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program) – Tempe’s only homeless shelter program, which operates seven nights a week, 365 days a year. Please join me in helping to gather towels for the needy.

I-Help helps make a difference to the more than 500 homeless men and women who annually seek safety, shelter and support in their journey to regain independence and long-term self-sufficiency.

We will be collecting towels from May 5th – May 19th and will deliver them to the TCAA on the afternoon of the 19th.

** Update: Our friends at Momentum Salon in South Tempe are also collecting towels for us. Feel free to drop them pff there before Friday the 19th and they will get them to us. The Salon is located at the NE corner of Rural and Warner where the new Tempe Public Market Cafe is being built.

Thank you all for helping! The response has been wonderful!
